Aston Martin reacted to Red Bull Racing’s suspicions

In Barcelona, discussions continue over the renewed Aston Martin car, which looks suspiciously like the Red Bull RB18.

On the eve of Helmut Marko, he said the team has evidence that the RB18 documentation was copied and that Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner allowed a criminal case to be opened if Aston Martin was proven to be using Red Bull intellectuals. property to create an updated version of the AMR22.

Aston Martin, technical director Andy Green, denied all allegations against the team at the FIA press conference on Saturday: “I don’t know what kind of allegations they are talking about at Red Bull. I can only say one thing: in no stage of the creation of the machine we never received any information from other teams or anyone else.

The FIA intervened and carried out a thorough investigation, studying all the data related to the car’s history. They spoke to everyone involved in the project and came to the conclusion that it was a completely independent development.

At the time we were negotiating with potential employees, this machine was already under development. Midway through last year we chose two concepts and most of the work on them was completed before the Red Bull staff came to us. Therefore, I consider all allegations to be unfounded.

Andy Green added that he was not happy with Red Bull’s allegations: “I am disappointed with their position, given that the FIA has already made statements about our car. They came to us, studied everything and came to conclude that this is a legitimate independent development. The FIA sees all the data, not only ours, but also the rest of the teams. They are the only ones who can draw conclusions, also in the context of the regulations. The topic is closed for me.

Green said it was a surprise to Aston Martin when they first saw the Red Bull Racing car and realized that the rivals were using a concept that Aston Martin had abandoned: when we saw rivals’ cars.

We had two concepts and it came as a shock and surprise to us when Red Bull presented a car with a concept similar to ours. It was then that we became convinced that we had chosen the wrong of the two options. The results that followed are proof of that.”
