The Aston Martin team, in which Sebastian Vettel has performed for the past two years, has given the four-time world champion a truly royal farewell. That he has a very warm relationship with this team was clearly felt in the days of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was the last race of his career.
The film is dedicated to these four days, recorded by Aston Martin’s press office and just published on the team’s YouTube channel. All 24 minutes of screen time are devoted to Sebastian, but not just the racing side of his life, as Britta Röske, who worked as his personal PR manager for many years, well put it.
Britta Röske: “I have been working with Sebastian since 2009 and before that I worked with Red Bull Racing, when Mark Webber played David Coulthard for this team. Obviously, Sebastian then joined us and replaced David.
He has always been a hard worker and I think he was one of the last to leave the paddock simply because he always gave everything to win the championship. In the beginning it was his biggest dream.
Sebastian is a very purposeful person, very composed, and he is characterized by maximum attention to all nuances. In addition, he is a real team player. At the same time, in my opinion, he has developed very actively as a person over the past two years. Not that he became a more emotional person, but he started to understand other people better. Perhaps he began to sympathize more with others, those who are sick now.
In the early part of his career he was mainly interested in racing and hardly noticed what was going on around him, now he has become more empathetic towards others. Now he is trying to do something to make their lives better and happier. At the same time, Sebastian does not like to be in the spotlight, does not like to be treated as a special person. That’s why I’m not even sure that he sees how much the people around him appreciate what he does for them, what he gives to the world.
And it is of course also worth quoting Mike Krak, head of Aston Martin F1, as he has known Vettel for many years, ever since the young German driver took his first steps in Formula 1, in partnership with the BMW Sauber team. team.
Mike Krak “Of course Sebastian’s legacy in Formula 1 is impressive. He won many championship titles, achieved many victories, but at the same time remains a very responsive and friendly person and always communicates with fans with pleasure. People will miss him.
I worked with Sebastian at BMW Sauber and when he joined the team he was still very young. And when I joined Aston Martin F1 he had already had a great career. I am happy to work with him again and I must emphasize that he is distinguished by a very correct business attitude. But I was also always impressed by his talent, his speed and his passion for moving the team forward.
I have no doubt that he will experience great emotions in the days of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and we will do our best to help him, but also to celebrate with him.
