Rosberg: The season as a whole was just exciting

Nico Rosberg, world champion in 2016, believes the end of the season was quite successful and it was interesting to watch the races, although Max Verstappen secured his second championship title ahead of schedule.

“I think the weekend in Abu Dhabi was great again and the season as a whole was just great, despite Verstappen’s dominance,” Niko shared on Sky Sports F1. – Still, it was always interesting to watch the races, including Abu Dhabi.

After we changed the configuration of the track, I really like it because before it was simply impossible to overtake there, and now we see overtaking everywhere in the pack from the start. For example, the episode where Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz fought at the start of the race – it was so interesting! Overall, I think the configuration adjustment has been to the benefit of the track, and it has contributed to the increase in entertainment.

It’s also great that the whole motorsport community, the whole world in general, came together to arrange such a beautiful farewell to Sebastian Vettel. A lot has been done for him and on Thursday evening all riders gathered for a farewell dinner. It was just great.

Sebastian is one of the greatest racers of all time, a four-time world champion, and he will truly be missed by all. Vettel’s career has been incredibly successful and it will be interesting to see what he does next. It will not be easy to decide, this is a serious task, especially since he admits that he has no plans yet. But I am sure that Sebastian will find a job that will benefit society…”
