Formula E: New car, new teams, new logo

The organizers of the World Electric Car Racing Championship presented a new corporate identity and logo, while also recalling how the 9th season of Formula E will be different from the previous one.

The electric series is moving to a new generation of cars (Gen3), new teams are entering the championship, new races have appeared on the calendar and the competition format has undergone significant changes.

The Gen3 cars will be the fastest, lightest, most powerful and most efficient electric race cars ever built, and the first baptism of fire will take place in Mexico City, where the first leg of the 9th season will take place on January 14. But this will be preceded by official tests scheduled for mid-December in Valencia.

Three new races have appeared on the calendar: on February 11, the stage will be held for the first time in the Indian city of Hyderabad, on February 25 Formula E will take place in Cape Town and after South Africa, the championship teams will go to South America, to Brazil, where the race will take place in Sao Paulo on March 25.

Two new teams, McLaren and Maserati, will debut in Formula E in 2023 and it will be interesting to see what they achieve against established teams. However, we should rather talk about new brands that have entered the championship, because McLaren was created on the basis of Mercedes, and Maserati – on the basis of Venturi.

We talked about changes in the format of the competition, they should make the race even more interesting and spectacular. But it is also promised that the Gen3 machines will have a new sound, which fans will appreciate later on.

Henry Chicott, Formula E Marketing Director: “Our brand’s new identity is part of an ongoing mission to create a new racing category consisting of top-level championships. It is designed to inspire and delight fans around the world, as well as create a stronger and broader platform for interaction between our partners, teams, producers and broadcasters.”
