Horner: Imola’s win put pressure on Ferrari

Summing up the season, Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner called the Imola stage a turning point, allowing his team to return to the title challenge. At the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, the team achieved its first double victory of the season and significantly reduced the gap to Ferrari.

“We never lost sight of our goal,” Horner told Racingnews365. – We struggled at the start of the season, but at Imola we won the sprint and the Grand Prix, having won the first winning double of the season. Such results helped put pressure on Ferrari and did not give them a chance to catch their breath.

The team continued to refine the car, we were able to reduce the weight and Max had a brilliant season. However, at the beginning of the year we had a very intense battle with Ferrari – in Miami, Saudi Arabia and even Bahrain. However, we had a great season.”

Christian Horner had a few words to say about Charles Leclerc, who overtook Sergio Perez in the fight for the vice-champion title: “Charles deserved his result after such a season. He was a strong contender and battled very cleanly with both of our riders.
