The head of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, believes that the reason for the frequent criticism of his team was the regular victories …
Christian Horner: “The higher you climb, the sharper the blades. In 2022 we felt it again. The best way to become unpopular in the paddock is to always win.
Some of our historic Formula 1 rivals don’t like the team winning against an energy drink maker. Once again this year we have become subject to constant criticism, as if we had a target painted on our back, even though we are not a political organization, but a racing team.
We are completely focused on racing and are constantly pushing the boundaries, which is what racing teams must do if they want to succeed. Our approach has always been this way – and in our case it works.
We were able to understand the new rules better than others, although last year we were the last to switch to a new car due to the championship battle. We were able to recover from retirement at the start of the season and put pressure on Ferrari, constantly refining the car.”
