Alpine F1 boss Laurent Rossi is pleased with how the team has fared this season. Expectations were modest after winter testing, but in the end it all ended with a fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship – the best result for the Enstone teams since 2018.
Lawrence Rossi: “We came to the first tests in Barcelona with a completely “raw” car. The idea was to continue development as long as possible, as it was a completely new car, and then gradually work our way up. We couldn’t get past eighth in testing and our McLaren rivals’ car was very fast. And I’m very happy that we were able to get ahead of them at the end of the season.
Fourth place is important for us not only because of the big prize money, but also for the progress of the team. We promised to get better every year to catch up with the best teams as soon as possible. And the first step has been taken.”
