Next season, Formula 3 and Formula 2 will travel to Australia for the first time as Formula 1 support races, with the stage promoter covering all logistical costs.
Commenting on the situation, the head of Formula 3 and Formula 2, Bruno Michel, admitted that holding the Australian stage would be a difficult test, but it would not lead to an increase in the financial burden on the drivers who pay for the work of the teams.
Bruno Michel: “There are many questions. For example, we have to ship fuel very early, since delivery [морским путём] will last three months.
It is important that this does not change anything in terms of costs for the teams as we will not pay for transport – all costs will be covered by the promoter.
For us, the Australian round is a fantastic opportunity to visit the new circuit. Yes, it will be a tough challenge, but we like challenges.”
