The 2023 Formula 1 championship in China will not take place due to difficulties caused by the coronavirus situation, according to the Royal Racing website.
This decision was taken after negotiation with the promoters and the local authorities.
“Formula 1 is evaluating alternative options to replace the stage and will provide further information on this matter at the appropriate time,” the statement read.
The Chinese Grand Prix was included in the provisional calendar for the season and was due to take place from April 14-16. In 2020 the Chinese stage was also canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, in 2021 and 2022 it was not included in the calendar.
In September, it was announced that 24 Formula 1 races would take place in 2023, with the first of these taking place from March 3-5 in Bahrain.
