Aurelia Nobels admitted to the Ferrari Racing Academy

Aurelia Nobels, a 15-year-old Belgian who grew up in Brazil, joined the students of the Ferrari Racing Academy (FDA) and became the best in the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars program.

We talked about how these competitions were held in August, and now the FIA ”Women in Motorsport” committee, together with the FDA experts, summarized the results, and Nobels was recognized as the winner.

Last season, Aurelia competed simultaneously in the Danish and Spanish Formula 4 series and also held several races in Brazil. Now she has the support of Ferrari, allowing her to move to the Italian F4, where the competition is fiercest and the strongest drivers of their age perform.

Among the younger riders born between 2008 and 2012, the best was Zoya Florescu Potolea, a Romanian representative of Italy. She will also receive FDA support and will spend next season in European karting.

Mohammed bin Sulayem, FIA President: “My sincere congratulations to Aurelia Nobels and Zoe Florescu Potolea, who became the best in the 2022 program. This success gives them the perfect opportunity to pursue a career in motor racing. Now we will monitor the progress of young drivers and I would also like to thank the FDA for their contribution to this innovative program organized by the FIA.

Talented young riders from all over the world are getting recognition and support – this is a very positive sign…”

Laurent Makis, sporting director of the Ferrari team: “We are delighted to invite Aurelia to the Ferrari Racing Academy, she deserved this victory. Now she will join our youth programme, and this confirms that Scuderia is working with the FIA to make motorsport accessible to everyone, regardless of gender, nationality or financial means.

We hope that Aurelia can follow the example of Maya Voig, the first winner of this program, who competed in Italian Formula 4 and regularly earned points, and will now move to European Formula Regional with the support of the FDA.

Congratulations also to Zoya, who came out on top in the junior category tests and will compete in karting with the support of the FDA and Tony Kart, our long-standing partner.

Aurelia Nobles: “I have no words to describe how I feel right now. I am very grateful to the FIA and the Ferrari Racing Academy for this wonderful opportunity. I have of course learned a lot and am looking forward to the start of the new season.”
