Guanyu Zhou, the first Chinese driver in Formula 1, had a good debut season. He earned a point in the very first race, although he was only 18th at the end of the championship – with partner Valtteri Bottas in tenth.
Journalists from the official website asked Guanyu to rate his performances on a ten-point scale…
Guanyu Zhou: “I would give myself a 7. This is quite a high rating.
Of course I wanted to achieve more. It’s a pity that I lost 8-10 points due to several retirements. But most importantly, I was able to show everyone in the paddock my abilities, my potential – this was important.
This year we achieved all the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the season – I went to the second part and the final of qualifying, earned points. Now you need to add stability, and then everything will be fine.
