At a conference of the British Motoring Journalists’ Guild in London, Martin Brundle was made an honorary member in recognition of his achievements and successful career as a racing TV commentator.
Brundle thanked the Guild leadership for the high honor bestowed on him, but also expressed his opinion, in communication with the press, on the situation at Ferrari after the resignation of Mattia Binotto.
“It is clear that the head of the Scuderia works for the whole country, not just the team,” said the former Formula 1 driver and now a popular Sky Sports F1 commentator. – They were without a technical director and without a team leader, and this whole situation looks a bit strange if Ferrari doesn’t have a very good candidate who could replace him.
The problem, in my opinion, is this: let’s not forget that the last time this team achieved great success when it was led by Frenchman Jean Todt, when Briton Ross Brown, South African Rory Byrne and others worked in it. Perhaps Ferrari needs something like that again, so that the people at the head of the Scuderia are less subject to the daily influence of the Italian press.
