Verstappen finished 4th in virtual Sebring

Max Verstappen, like all other drivers of Formula 1 and most other series, is now resting after a long and difficult season, but even during the holidays he cannot imagine his life without motorsport, not even in its cyber version .

On Saturday, the two-time world champion took part in the virtual race “500 miles from Sebring”, and the crew of the Redline team, with whom Max has been working for many years, took 4th place. It was the penultimate stage of the Le Mans Virtual Series and the final will take place in mid-January.

Together with teammates Maximilian Beneke and Geoffrey Rietveld, Verstappen drove a 134 lap race of more than four hours in which Roman Grosjean, an ex-Formula 1 driver who now drives with IndyCar, was also present. A total of 40 teams started the stage in the virtual Sebring, and Team Redline took 4th place.

Crew No. 1 started from second position, quite confidently overcame the distance and claimed a spot on the podium until the last part of the race, but at the end Verstappen was stuck in traffic and six laps from the finish he was overtaken by James Baldwin, a Brit who competes in GT in real life and in virtual Sebring, drove the car of the AMG Team Petronas Esports team.

Now Team Redline will prepare for the final: the virtual marathon “24 Hours of Le Mans” starts on January 14 and has a good chance of winning the championship in the LMP2 category, as it continues to lead the team standings.
