Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner commented on the dismissal of Mattia Binotto as head of the Ferrari team. This outcome came as no surprise to Horner and he separately emphasized that he was not interested in the vacancy at the Scuderia.
Christian Horner “Obviously this is Ferrari’s decision, but it didn’t really surprise me. As far as I understand they already have the sixth team leader in the time I’ve been leading Red Bull. Mattia struggled because they had a great car and the team is competitive.
As for me, I have obligations to Red Bull. I’ve been with the team from the start and we have a close relationship.”
Horner added that he expects a battle for the title in 2023 with the participation of three teams: “Both Mercedes drivers have had a great season. George Russell was ahead of Lewis Hamilton in his first year, but Lewis will still fight. It can be assumed that they will start wrestling again next year. Ferrari also strives for progress, so we have a difficult season ahead of us in 2023.”
