The next phase of the reconstruction of the autodrome has started in Spa

It is winter in Europe and the motorsport world is now quiet, which does not apply to specific series such as the Andros Trophy. In any case, despite the difficult weather conditions, this is the most suitable time to carry out various types of work on the reconstruction of car dreams, which is exactly what the owners of the famous Belgian circuit in Spa are doing.

According to a press release published on Monday, the number of visitors to last season’s races was at an exceptionally high level and in this regard it was decided to proceed to the next phase of work to modernize the infrastructure of the autodrome.

Work started on October 10: along the part of the circuit connecting the corners of La Source and Eau Rouge, work has started on a new grandstand and terraces, which will be placed opposite the complex of boxes used during endurance races are used.

The capacity of the new grandstand is 4,104 seats plus another 40 folding seats in the so-called “walking area”. The grandstand offers a panoramic view of the entire route up to the Radillon bend. There will be 3,139 additional seats on the terraces, which will be integrated as organically as possible into the surrounding landscape.

The work is expected to be completed by mid-April 2023, after which the capacity of stands and terraces along the route will increase to 16,000.

Amaury Bertolome, Circuit Executive Director: “We are pleased to continue to modernize the circuit’s infrastructure. The work will be carried out in the winter period, we strive to raise capacity to the highest possible level. Additional investments are also planned for the reconstruction of the paddock.”
