Verstappen: I hope the weekend goes smoothly

Red Bull Racing has started the season well and is looking forward to Albert Park…

Max Verstappen: “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to start in Australia. We haven’t raced in a long time! The atmosphere in Melbourne is always the most positive. It’s interesting to look at the updated track – we’re waiting for interesting changes, especially in the sixth corner. Catch-up opportunities need to be added, which is always a positive.

We will see how our car behaves in Albert Park, where the track is quite dusty. I hope the weekend will go smoothly for our team. Let’s see how Sunday’s race goes.”

Sergio Perez: “I’m happy to be back in Melbourne after a two-year hiatus – it’s always fun to race there. Fans are supporting us tremendously, I’m sure they are very happy that Formula 1 is back in Australia.

This year, the track’s configuration has changed – let’s see how the new generation of cars will handle it. At the beginning of the week I did some work on the simulator with a virtual copy of the track in Albert Park and I think the changes that have taken place will add to the entertainment.

Before, the team and I weren’t really lucky there, but I’m sure we’ll have luck on our side this weekend. We have a very competitive car this year, we are looking forward to getting behind the wheel and seeing what we can do!”
