The Maserati MSG Racing team recently announced its roster for the ninth season of Formula E and now showed the livery of the new car: the Maserati Tipo Folgore Gen3.
The company’s CEO Davide Grasso has unveiled the car in Modena, home of the Maserati brand, and will race in the traditional blue color scheme with a trident and an Italian tricolor stripe.
“The first racing car with a trident was the Tipo 26, which made its debut at the Targa Florio in 1926 and took first place in its class with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel. It is symbolic that 96 years later Maserati Tipo Folgore prepares to compete in the electric championship with a trident,” said the company’s official press release.
Next week the car will make its track debut during pre-season testing at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.
