The Scuderia will be led by French specialist Frederic Vasser, who worked at Alfa Romeo.

The management of Ferrari has decided who will be entrusted with the Formula 1 team next season. According to Sport1, the main candidate for the vacant seat is the current head of Alfa Romeo Frederic Wasser.

Journalists say that Scuderia President John Elkann believes that the 54-year-old French specialist is capable of leading the team out of a prolonged crisis. And before the end of this year, the Italian stable will make an official statement on the appointment of Vasser.

Wasser is believed to be a deterrent against Charles Leclerc, who may consider leaving Ferrari at the end of his contract, which runs until the end of 2024.

Remember that Leclerc and Wasser worked together at Alfa Romeo during the Monegasque’s first year in Formula 1 until Charles moved to Ferrari.

Earlier, Ferrari decided to part ways with Mattia Binotto. The Italian has held the position of leader since 2019, and has been working with the team since 1995. Binotto will leave his post at the end of 2022.
