The weather in Milton Keynes today is very cool, albeit sunny, but nothing prevented Red Bull from holding their Home Run racing show, dedicated to winning both world championships.
The show, which took place on a boulevard with the summer name of Midsummer Boulevard, generated a great deal of interest from local residents, most of whom naturally support Red Bull Racing and are proud of the team’s achievements. Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez met them, signed autographs and, of course, drove the RB7, a model car from 2011, around the improvised circuit that had been built along the boulevard, spinning “doughnuts”, smoking rubber.
But the end of the program was already approaching and from noon the audience was entertained by masters of motofreestyle, mototrial, drift and rally – all these sports are supported by Red Bull. A NASCAR car even entered the track, although Red Bull drivers have long since ceased to drive in this category.
Sergio and Max took to the track in turn to the applause of the audience, each of them spent two races. As Christian Horner said the day before, they have to strictly adhere to the speed limit as the city has a 30 mile per hour limit. Whether it was true or not, probably only the Milton Keynes police know, but something tells me they won’t be sharing this information.
