Audi commented on Seidl’s appointment

Today was announced the appointment of former McLaren team principal Andreas Seidl as CEO of the Sauber Group. Now the company-owned team competes in Formula 1 under the name of Alfa Romeo, but in 2026 Audi power plants will appear on the cars, and the German automaker will acquire a stake in the Sauber Group.

It is clear that Audi management played an important role in signing the contract with Andreas Seidl – Markus Duismann, chairman of the board of directors of Audi, has known the German specialist since the 2000s when they worked together at Sauber.

Following Seidl’s appointment, the German manufacturer’s press service released a brief statement from Oliver Hoffmann, head of Audi’s F1 program: “We welcome the choice of our future partners.

Andreas Seidl has a wealth of experience in senior positions in various racing programs, both as a car manufacturer and as a Formula 1 team. His track record in motorsport is impressive.”
