Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton had his younger brother Nicholas, who suffers from cerebral palsy, tested on the Mercedes simulator in Brackley. Despite his illness, Nicholas races, takes part in BTCC on a modified car – everything worked out on the simulator.
After the session, which took place about two weeks ago, Hamilton posted several photos of his brother in Mercedes on social networks, and now he talked about how the day went.
Lewis Hamilton «A few months ago, Nicholas and I asked the team if we could organize this day. Any time on the simulator is expensive, usually not available to people like my brother, we had to make special changes to the design of the seat, handlebars and pedals.
As a result, Nicholas spent all day on the simulator – becoming the first disabled person to have such an opportunity.
He’s always been a fighter and it was great to see him on a day like this. He never stopped smiling and got a lot of pleasure from this work. Thank you Mercedes for making my brother’s dream come true.”
