Last season, many Formula 1 teams released car updates every few stages, but Alpine went the other way – new items were not too massive, but regular. This approach allowed the car to continuously improve, eventually allowing Alpine to overtake McLaren for fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
Team driver Esteban Ocon told Racingnews365 that he had never seen such effective work with new products in his long career in Formula 1.
Esteban Ocon: “The preparation of new products has been great this year. I have never seen a Formula 1 team prepare so many updates and so quickly! On weekends and holidays, people continued to work at the base to make the underbody or front wings.
To be honest, this performance made a strong impression on me. A few months ago I even went by the production department to thank everyone. The team’s progress has been made possible by their hard work.
For example, sometimes we planned to put new items on only one car, since new parts were only made in one instance. Then suddenly we got a second batch of updates before the weekend. That happened four or five times over the course of the season and made a strong impression.
