On Tuesday Ferrari confirmed the appointment of Frédéric Vasseur as team principal and on Wednesday Carlos Sainz spoke about changes to the team at the Estrella Galicia event in Spain…
Carlos Sainz: “Every time someone new joins the team,
this adds motivation to everyone, the desire to succeed for themselves and the team. We have to give him time. Vasser needs to evaluate the team’s work, understand what needs to be changed. Ferrari is a very big company and I know it will take time. One day the situation will not change.
I’ve heard many good things about him. I know him personally, he wanted to sign a contract with me when he worked at Renault. Yesterday I called him to congratulate him on this appointment – and for the first time I spoke to him when he is the boss of the team, and I am the driver. I’m sure everything will be fine now.
This year was the first time I had a really competitive car and I learned a lot. I will use this experience to become even stronger in the future.”
