Just under three months to go until the first race of the 2023 season in Bahrain, but today it was announced in which country the first stage of Formula 1 will be held in 2024.
The 2024 season opens the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia. That’s according to today’s statement by the Government of the Australian state of Victoria to extend the contract for the Melbourne race until 2037.
“Part of the contract extension agreement is that Melbourne will host the first round of the Formula 1 season at least four times between 2023 and 2037,” the state government said in a statement. “In 2024, the season opens with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which will avoid the race’s intersection with Ramadan.”
In 2024, Ramadan will last from March 10 to April 8. For example, it can be assumed that in 2024 the Formula 1 season will start on March 1-3 on the first weekend of the month.
