Former “Haas” driver Mick Schumacher took over as Mercedes’ reserve driver for the 2023 Formula 1 season, according to the racing team’s Twitter page.
In the 2022 season, Schumacher finished 16th in the Formula 1 driver standings with 12 points. His best result is a 6th place at the Austrian Grand Prix. At the end of the season, the 23-year-old driver left Haas.
It was also previously announced that the Ferrari Academy has stopped cooperating with the German driver in any format.
The main Mercedes drivers will remain Britons Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
Mick Schumacher is the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
