Andrew Westacott, CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC), will step down from his position at the end of his term on 30 June 2023. The Australian specialist decided to retire from the position he held since 2011.
Under Westacott’s leadership, Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit was modernized and the Australian Grand Prix contract was extended until 2037.
Andrew Westacott: “I am proud to have spent so many years with the AGPC, along with our great team and all the partners we have held Formula 1 and MotoGP events with. I saw 30 race events, several cancellations and a record number of spectators in the stands in 2022 – these are all special moments for me.
I will always remember the contrast between the start of the epidemic in 2020 and how we opened Melbourne to the sporting world in 2022.”
