Alfa Romeo will compete against top teams in Monaco

In Monaco, Alfa Romeo doesn’t just expect to continue a string of successful performances: the team’s press release about the upcoming stage emphasizes that “in Monaco we are going to show what we are capable of and achieve an extraordinary result.”

Frederic Vasseur, Team Principal: “Monaco is organizing a unique race where every team and driver wants to excel. Of course we are in the same mood, although we are preparing for the weekend ahead, as we are at any other stage of the season.

Our goals are the same: we know that the car’s potential allows us to lead the average group of teams and compete with the leaders. To achieve this, as always, you must act correctly on all days of the weekend and squeeze the most out of the car.

We are working hard to match the C42’s reliability with its speed capabilities – both drivers could potentially finish in the top ten. In Monaco we want to show the world how well we are doing this season.”

Valtteri Bottas“I’m looking forward to the next race, the Monaco round is always interesting, it’s the home Grand Prix for many drivers and the atmosphere is unlike any other weekend of the season.

I really want to know what this race will look like with new generation cars. On the track in Monaco it has always been difficult to fight up close, and if anything changes this year we will probably have a very bright Grand Prix.

For this weekend I have a pretty confident attitude. In two races in a row we managed to fight with the drivers of the top teams, and I don’t see what can stop us from doing it again. Success, of course, largely depends on working effectively on Friday and good qualifications on Saturday. If we manage to start from high enough positions, we may be able to claim a special result. †

Guanyu Zhou: “I want to get to work on the track in Monaco as soon as possible behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car. It will be very difficult tasks to solve, but I foresee that absolutely incredible thrills are guaranteed there.

To be competitive on this track you always have to drive at the limit – this was even in the youth series, and in Formula 1 you have to give your best even more. The city ring requires a respectful attitude, in the training sessions it is very important to find the right rhythm, but I know that the team supports me and can count on them.

We have worked very hard to get to the root of the technical issues so that they will not affect our work in the future, and I have no doubt that we will be able to show how competitive we are. I have very good memories of Monaco because last year I won a Formula 2 race there and now I want to succeed in Formula 1.
