They say that before Christmas, the chances of your cherished dream coming true are somewhat higher than on other days, although sometimes this has to wait decades.
Enzo Ferrari, founder of the legendary brand that bears his name, was once such a popular man in his home country that Italian children sent him thousands of letters every year. Komendatore passed away in August 1988, more than thirty years ago, but some of those old letters have recently been found in the company’s archives.
And now, in 2022, Ferrari decided to find the authors of the three most touching and passionate messages addressed to “Grandpa Enzo” and invite them to visit the Maranello factory and Scuderia base.
Ferrari called this action “Keep dreaming” and were able to fulfill their wishes, even years later. Of course, they have long since grown up, but, by the way, forty years ago and now the company has a rule – visitors who have reached the age of 16 are allowed to enter the factory.
Official invitations were sent to David, Alessandro and Michele, which they accepted with enthusiasm, as all three are still Ferrari fans. A documentary was made about their visit to Maranello, and now these three lucky people will have something to remember for a long time to come.
One of those who met them was Piero Ferrari, Enzo’s son, who of course also impressed them.
“Father kept all correspondence, believing that it was very important to answer every letter received. – shared Ferrari Jr., who holds the position of vice president of the company. “But he got so many, and very often in letters people expressed their love for the Ferrari brand. Children sent drawings, told about their different ideas and usually wanted to receive an invitation to visit the factory.
It was wonderful to meet three people who, when they were children, wrote letters to my father. That was more than 40 years ago, but I was very touched to hear that all three of them have always loved everything to do with the world of Ferrari.
