Drugovic and Rosenquist debut in Race of Champions

The organizers of the Race of Champions (ROC) have announced that the roster of exciting competitions for 2023 has been expanded, with Felipe Drugovic, the reigning Formula 2 champion, and Felix Rosenquist, who will drive the Arrow McLaren SP in IndyCar, competing for the to start first.

They will be joined by another debutant – the famous rally master Thierry Neuville, who took two victories in the stages of the World Championship last season and finished in 3rd place in the individual classification.

On January 28 and 29, the ROC will be held again in Sweden on the territory of the Pite-Havsbad complex, about 100 km from the Arctic Circle, and the riders will have to measure their strength on a snow and ice track. Tom Christensen, the legendary Dane and nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and David Coulthard, a former Formula 1 driver and now a popular television commentator, have recently confirmed their participation in the competition.

It was previously reported that Sebastian Vettel, now retired, and Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo driver, will once again represent Formula 1 in the Race of Champions. Other ROC competitors include five-time World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson, Norwegian rally drivers Peter and Oliver Solberg and Jamie Chadwick, three-time Women’s W Series Champion.

As the organizers have assured, the full list of ROC-2023 participants will be made public soon.

“I will have a great opportunity to participate in the Race of Champions with many celebrities,” said Brazilian Felipe Drugovic. – It will be difficult for me to race on snow and ice for the first time after asphalt tracks, but I will try to learn as soon as possible. Whatever happens, it’s going to be fun and it’s going to be an incredibly interesting experience.”
