Athletistic/Formula-1. Spanish ‘Aston Martin’ driver Fernando Alonso has explained how the new rules have affected Formula 1 events.

“The new rules were one of the reasons for my return to Formula 1. Initially, they were to be approved in 2021. So I came even a year earlier. And yes, it was a little disappointing for everyone to realize that nothing had changed drastically. No more than two teams can win races, as has been the case in recent years.

And the gap between two or three leading teams and the intermediate teams is still too big. In 50% of the races, we are one lap behind the winner. Therefore, we have not yet achieved the result that Formula 1 was counting on with the change of rules,” said Alonso.
