In October, the final qualifying round of the competition took place in Maranello, the winner of which was awarded the right to study at the Ferrari Racing Academy. Six young riders competed in the final, with 16-year-old Finn Tuukka Taponen in the lead.
Today it was announced that Tuukka will spend his debut season in formulas in 2023 – the Finn will drive for the Prema team in Italian Formula 4. In addition, Taponen is scheduled to participate in other series, which will be announced later.
Tuukka Taponen: “I am very happy to join Prema and spend my debut season in formulas together with the team. I have only heard good things about a team that has done well in the past.
In the very first tests I felt comfortable, although it is not so easy to switch to such equipment after karting, but the team showed professionalism and helped me to feel comfortable behind the wheel of Formula 4 .I’m ready for 2023.
