Juan Manuel Correa will play a full season in Formula 2 in 2023. In 2022, the American driver competed in Formula 3, finishing 13th in the individual competition, and returned to Formula 2 at the final round in Abu Dhabi as part of Van Amersfoort Racing. Correa’s contract with the Dutch team for next year has been announced today.
Juan Manuel Correa: “Returning full-time to Formula 2 means more to me than people can imagine. This is not only an achievement in itself, but also the realization of the goal that I have been working towards for the past three years, so the return is very emotional.
I am very grateful to Van Amersfoort Racing for this opportunity. I am extremely motivated, hungry for success and I know the team. I am sure that together with Richard Fershhor we will make an excellent pair of pilots. We will push each other to constantly improve because we both want to do well next season.
There is a lot of competition in Formula 2 and I think the team has done a great job in their debut season. Given their limited experience, they performed impressively. I look forward to working together and helping the team improve – we’re in for a very exciting season!
