Sebastian Vettel missed the first two stages of the season due to Covid-19, but will return behind the wheel of Aston Martin in Melbourne. Together with partner Lance Stroll, the German rider is getting ready to take on the competition this weekend.
Sebastian Vettel: “I missed the first two races due to a positive test for coronavirus, and now I feel like I was late for school, but I’m ready! It’s not the first time I’ve started the season in Australia – it’s great that Formula 1 has returned to this country after some difficult years.
I haven’t ridden for almost a month, so it’s important to gather as much information as possible during training. Hopefully we can take a few steps forward and the race will be exciting and unpredictable again.”
Lance Walk: “It’s great that we’re going to Australia again. Melbourne literally lives for sport and Albert Park is always interesting to perform.
I’m looking forward to evaluating the new configuration and the updated tarmac – I hope all of this will make overtaking easier, especially in Turn 13. It will be interesting to see how the ground effect machines perform on this track. We hope that the battle will become more intense and exciting.”
