Kimi Raikkonen returns to racing: US NASCAR team Trackhouse Racing has confirmed that the Finnish driver will start at Watkins Glen on August 21.
According to Justin Marks, the team owner, he deliberately left the third car for one of the stars of the first order, and 42-year-old Raikkonen agreed to drive the #91 Chevrolet.
Once upon a time, in 2011, Kimi gained experience driving NASCAR vehicles, and with reasonable success, and now, after more than a decade, this will come in handy again.
I must say that a few days ago a mysterious photo appeared on the pages of the 2007 world champion in social networks: a white question mark on a black background. Fans and the press wondered why that would be, and today it was all revealed: the Trackhouse Racing team announced that Kimi would be partnering with its key drivers, Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez.
