Many Formula 1 drivers traditionally shared photos taken at the decorated Christmas trees on the days of the winter holidays, were with their families and wished the fans to spend this time of year in the same way.
Fernando Alonso acted differently: before Christmas, photos appeared on his pages on social networks in which he enthusiastically drives around the go-kart track, which is located next to his museum in Spanish Asturias, and the comment was: “Everything is very good!”
In general, the two-time world champion makes it clear that he also has a fighting spirit on holiday and prepares himself with all his might for new challenges. And they may be even more difficult than before.
In a recent interview, Alonso formulated his job for the near future as follows: “I love what I do. Of course I want to have a car with which I can fight for the title. Of all possible options, it is with Aston Martin that I could try to reach my goal in two or three years…”
The coming season will already be the twentieth of Fernando’s career and next summer he will be 42, but he still has an irrepressible thirst for victory – this is exactly what Aston Martin needs now, so they have common goals.
The shot at the go-kart track makes even more sense when you quote Dan Fallows, technical director of the team from Silverstone: “Verstappen and Alonso drive Formula 1 cars as if they were go-karts. It sounds a bit strange, because we are talking about such a complex and perfect technique, but it is true. So we will try to give Fernando a car that gives him the same feeling as driving a go-kart.”
Aston Martin is also preparing to team up with the Spanish racer and recently his portrait appeared on the official pages of the team on social networks and the following words: “We can’t wait for you to join us.”
Presumably Fernando is in the same mood, so soon a new chapter will begin in his career and in the history of the team, which began its journey as Jordan more than thirty years ago.
