Daniel Ricciardo spent two seasons with McLaren, but the team was dissatisfied with the cooperation with the driver and terminated the contract ahead of schedule. Former teammate Daniel Lando Norris said he learned a lot from the Australian.
Lando Norris: “It was an honor to perform with Daniel. And it was a lot of fun too, because he’s one of the funniest and nicest guys I’ve ever met in the paddock. Although I’m a bit biased, because I don’t know everyone.
I was able to learn a lot from Daniel. His racing approach and mentality helped him get through the toughest times, stay strong and keep believing in himself.
When I first came into Formula 1 I had psychological problems, but thanks to Daniel I have learned to deal with it in recent years. Moreover, I even spied on him how he drives a car. I saw in which aspects Daniel is good and tried to adopt his approach.
It wasn’t easy to learn from him, but I’ve definitely gotten better, which is definitely good for me.”
