Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll has serious plans to take the team to a leading position in Formula 1. Construction of new production buildings and a wind tunnel is well underway at the Silverstone base, and Dan Fallows, who was responsible for aerodynamics at Red Bull Racing, has taken up the position of technical director for the team.
Despite his extensive experience in the championship team, Fallows assures that in order to achieve success, Aston Martin will not copy the technical solutions of rivals.
Dan Fallows: “We have to be careful not to copy our opponents’ technical decisions. We don’t think we can stay ahead of teams like Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari if we just copy them. We have to approach the development of the machine in our own way, but that takes time.
The team has already managed to collect ambitious specialists and the construction of a new base shows that we are developing and want to accelerate the process of climbing up to get into the position of a team that claims to win as soon as possible.
