Valtteri Bottas celebrated the new year first

Most likely, Valtteri Bottas met the New Year earlier than other Formula 1 drivers, because he was in New Zealand at the time and got there on January 1 12 hours earlier than in, say, Finland or Switzerland, where the Alfa Romeo team is based.

The Finnish racer celebrated Christmas in Australia and then headed a few thousand miles south-east with his girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell. To be more precise, Valtteri met the New Year on New Zealand’s North Island near the town of Taupo, where he did his favorite thing – he cycled the trails there.

An interesting detail: during a bike ride he was accompanied by Brandon Hartley, a New Zealand rider who once played for Toro Rosso and is now successfully continuing his career in the WEC. Brandon is the reigning world endurance champion.

As he travels around New Zealand, Valtteri in particular visits wineries, tastes excellent local wines, but on his social media pages he posted a picture where we see him in a green shirt, on which if you look closely you can see the initials VB, and also decor in the form of beer mugs and cans. You won’t be surprised if Valtteri starts producing a special kind of foamy drink in addition to his signature Oath gin.

By the way, on the first day of the New Year, Tiffany made a parachute jump – with an instructor, of course – and admired the beauty of New Zealand from a height of 5 km. However, there is no information on whether Valtteri accompanied her. In theory, it cannot be ruled out that such activities are simply not permitted by contract.
