The new head of the Ferrari team, Frederic Vasser, is well acquainted with Charles Leclerc – the Monegask raced for his team in GP3, and made his Formula 1 debut at Sauber under the guidance of a French specialist. Carlos Sainz does not believe he is at a disadvantage just because his partner is already familiar with the new head of the Scuderia.
Carlos Sainz: “From what I have been told and what I know, Frederic is the right person for the team leader position. Everyone in the paddock knows him well and I am sure he will do well. Of course it will take time to adapt, but he knows Formula 1 and Ferrari very well. After preparation, we begin full-fledged work.
I don’t think I should start from scratch. I am sure we will get along well and he will be happy with my work, my relationship with the team and with Charles. I believe that Frederic’s good relationship with Charles will benefit the whole team and help him adapt more quickly.”
