Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll is investing heavily in the Formula 1 team with a new base and wind tunnel currently under construction. Technical director Dan Fallows said the team will experience the first effect of the wind tunnel in 2025.
“The aim is to have the new wind tunnel operational by mid-2024,” Fallows told Racingnews365. – We hope that the pipe will already make a certain contribution to the car in 2025. This machine will therefore be the first on which the new wind tunnel will have a significant effect.
If we are talking about the plinth, we will take part of the new building into use in 2023. Naturally, this has a positive effect on the car. The new base should increase the efficiency of the entire team.
One of the hallmarks of a competitive team is the ability to react quickly to the situation and move from development to production of machine components in the shortest possible time. Thanks to the new equipment, we can take a big step forward in terms of efficiency. This is of course exactly what is needed given the budgetary constraints.”
