A few more teams aspire to Formula 1

Yesterday it was announced that the Andretti Cadillac team had submitted an application for Formula 1, it is expected that several more applications will be submitted in the coming months, but not the fact that they will be accepted.

In 2019, Benjamin Durend, former general manager of SMP Racing, co-created the Panthera Team Asia F1 project with Michael Orts, renting an office in Silverstone and inviting former Formula 1 team designer Tim Milne, who has worked with Renault, Honda, Super Aguri , Toyota, Caterham and Manor. Due to the pandemic, the project was halted, but now it could well continue.

In the fall of 2019, we wrote about the bold plans of businessman Salvatore Gandolfo, the founder of Monaco Elevate Management – he wanted to create a new Formula 1 team based on the Spanish Campos Racing and agreed with the Automobile Club of Monaco so that the name was chosen legally. In 2021, Gandolfo reminded himself and confirmed the upcoming application to participate in the championship.

Recently Canadian billionaire motorsport fan Calvin Lo announced his desire to create a Formula 1 team.

At the moment, all potential entrants are awaiting further details on the registration process, which will take place early next week, according to FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
