Every year the number of stages on the Formula 1 calendar increases, in 2023 there will be at least 23 races, and if you still manage to hold the Chinese Grand Prix or find a replacement for it, then all 24.
Therefore, the organizers of the championship, together with the teams, are considering the possibility of introducing a mandatory winter break, and we talked about this in the fall.
During the winter holidays, some teams close their bases for several days, but this is not mandatory. Now, however, the issue is being discussed, along with the mandatory summer break in the championship, when almost any activity related to working with machines is banned, to introduce a similar practice in winter.
The issue will be included on the agenda of the next meeting of the Formula 1 Sports Advisory Committee, which will be attended by sports directors from all teams. If agreement is reached, it is possible that the provision for a mandatory winter break will be included in the Championship sport regulations in a subsequent amendment.
