Franco Colapinto has become a new member of the Williams Racing Academy. Next season, the Argentinian driver will work with the team at the base and on track, and will also spend a lot of time in the simulator. In addition, Colapinto will continue to drive in Formula 3 with MP Motorsport in 2023.
Franco Colapinto: “I am honored to join Williams as an academy driver. Williams is one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 history and I look forward to following in the footsteps of my compatriot Carlos Reutemann. This is an incredible opportunity for which I am grateful. I want to thank everyone at Williams for believing in me.
I am also pleased to announce that I will be returning to MP Motorsport in Formula 3 in 2023. I really enjoyed playing for the team in the Eurocup and in FRECA – together we achieved excellent results. In 2023 we will try to achieve more.
In my first year in Formula 3 I studied, and now I have to apply the knowledge I gained in the fight for the title. I am grateful to everyone who made this possible – thank you for your support. I can’t wait for the season to start!”
