In 2026, Audi will make its Formula 1 debut as a powertrain supplier. Preparations for this are already in full swing, but the company encountered unexpected difficulties – Audi Sport technical director Stefan Dreyer admitted that the recruitment for the engine division in Germany is not going as smoothly as we would like.
“We started preparations a few months before the official announcement,” says Stefan Dreyer. – We plan to employ more than three hundred specialists in our division. I know what our team is capable of, but the specialists already involved in the project are not enough. That is why we are looking for new employees in other divisions of Audi, but we are ready to rely on the experience of people from other companies.
The primary task is to collect three hundred to four hundred specialists in Neuburg. This is a chore to say the least. For example, Red Bull Powertrains employs about 350 people, but it was easier for them to recruit specialists as Milton Keynes is only 30 miles from Brixworth.
