Last year, Alex Palou and Pato O’Ward raced against McLaren and got behind the wheel during Friday practice. Both drivers are looking forward to more in the future, Palou even got a backup pilot contract for 2023, but team principal Zach Brown explained that neither had been promised a contract to compete in Formula 1.

I hope he can make it in IndyCar at the end of the season, but we have not promised anyone anything except the tests.
