Last week, Andretti and Cadillac announced plans to submit a joint application to enter Formula 1. The formal application process is still far from formal, with most current teams skeptical of the project, but head Michael Andretti says themselves the highest goals.
Michael Andretti: “We are entering Formula 1 with serious intentions. It will take a long time, but we want to become one of the leading teams. Our ultimate goal is to fight for the title within five or six years of debut.
We don’t want to compete in Formula 1 just for performance. Who cares anyway? We want to compete with the best teams in the world. We do not underestimate the complexity of the assignment. It’s going to be a long process to build a business, but we have a plan to make it work.
You need to focus on your work and not listen to naysayers. Skeptics really just motivate me – it’s always nice to keep their mouths shut about their achievements.
