The eleventh stage of the Dakar rally raid between Sheiba and Rub al-Khali took place on Thursday. The fastest distance of the special stage with a length of 274 kilometers was Sebastien Loeb. For the Prodrive rider, the victory was already the fifth on this Dakar and the fourth in a row.
Sebastien Loeb led the entire distance. After 63 kilometers his lead was more than a minute and at the finish the Frenchman had a lead of 2 minutes and 16 seconds over fellow Prodrive rider Guerlain Chichery. Audi’s Matthias Ekström finished third, ten seconds behind Shicheri.
Lucas Moraes, who finished second in the individual classification, showed the fourth fastest time and lost more than six minutes to the leader. His lead over Loeb was cut to nine and a half minutes. If Sebastien continues to close the gap at such a pace, he will finish Dakar second.
Rally raid leader Nasser Al-Attiyah showed the fifth fastest time, losing 6 minutes and 42 seconds to Loeb. However, the advantage of the Toyota driver in the individual classification is a comfortable 1 hour 21 minutes 4 seconds.
