James Vowles appointed team leader “Formula 1” “Williams” according to the site “les écuries”.
The 43-year-old Briton replaced Jost Capito, who had led the team since 2020. Vowles will take charge on February 20.
“I can’t wait to start working at Williams. I am honored to join a team with such an incredibly rich heritage. This team is an icon of our sport that I have a lot of respect for and I look forward to the challenge,” he said.
Vowles has been part of the Mercedes team since 2010, where he was director of motorsport strategy for more than four years. Prior to that, he held engineering and strategic positions in Formula 1 teams Honda, Brown, BAR.
The main pilots of “Williams” in the new season will be American Logan Sargent and Alexander Albon (Thailand).
