Sebastian Vettel at the wheel of an Aston Martin advanced to the qualifying final and Lance Stroll retired in the first session…
Sebastian Vettel (9th): “Ninth place is a good result. In Monaco, the qualifying result has always been particularly important. I hope we will have a good race tomorrow and take every opportunity to earn back.
The main intrigue is related to the weather. When it rains, the race turns into a lottery, but this can make it eventful and interesting. But I would be surprised if the whole race is rainy, but you have to prepare for mixed conditions. Whatever happens, tomorrow we hope to score points.”
Lance Walk (18th): “First of all I would like to thank the mechanics for repairing my car after the accident in the third practice. They had to work hard to fix everything before the start of qualifying.
Unfortunately, the qualifying was disappointing. I took off on Turn 13 and hit the curb – and that was the end of my circle. Too bad, before the incident I was four tenths faster than my best time. I am disappointed with 18th place, our car allows us to achieve more.”
