“Lewis and George went to the end point in completely different ways. I think Lewis, suddenly for him, it seems to me, had to adapt to the new realities of the car, driving which he, if he had showed what he was capable of, would have fought for victory any race weekend.
While George’s experience at Williams probably helped with the car we raced with at the start of the season.
I think George himself was hoping for a slightly different experience, that it would be different from the one he used. But at the same time, he coped very well with the tasks he faced.
And I think, to be honest, at the beginning of the year it was easier for George to adapt than for Lewis,” Shovlin said.
